The Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (formerly Dynamics AX) data management framework allows you to run a previously created data import project multiple times. The functionality also allows the user to upload a new file to a previously created data import project. You can export or import data into finance and operations applications using the data management workspace. Validate the data by storing the source data and then moving it to the destination tables in the finance and operations application database.
You can also find a list of the data entities available for each area with the suggested data sequences, which show the dependencies of the data. Data entities were introduced as part of data management to be used as a layer of abstraction that could be easily understood through the use of business concepts. With the data management framework, you can quickly migrate reference data, master data, and documents from old or external systems.
The package is a zip file that contains a data file for each entity, as well as a package header and manifest. You can choose which data entities to export, but also the number of entities, the file format used (there are 14 different formats to choose from for export) and apply a filter to each entity to limit what is exported. This section provides troubleshooting information for the different stages of data packet processing. This data entity will start loading immediately because there are no dependencies where other entities are loaded before it.

To load the data correctly, it is important to establish the correct order for importing the data packages, due to the dependencies that exist within and between the modules. Data entities provide a conceptual abstraction and an encapsulation of the underlying table schema that represents the concepts and functionalities of the data.
